RoHS and WEEE compliance
In response to the legislated environmental directives being instituted in the European Union, ENERPAC has established a comprehensive program that is intended to promote product compliance with the new laws, where applicable. At this time, the key environmental directives are from the European Community, with many countries/states either following these directives explicitly or instituting their own variations. The most notable are the RoHS (Restriction on the use of certain Hazardous Substances in Electrical and Electronic Equipment) and WEEE (Waste of Electrical and Electronic Equipment) directives.
ENERPAC is committed to these environmental regulations. In order to serve our customers, we are in the process of ensuring that our products, where applicable (Electric Pumps and accessories), will be compliant with the RoHS and the WEEE directives.
Main steps in this program are:
- Collect and analyze applicable documentation.
- Analysis of material, components, subassemblies, and processes for identification of RoHS-restricted substances currently utilized. This is done in close cooperation with suppliers and sub-contractors.
- Determine and locate acceptable alternatives to RoHS-restricted substances for non-exempt applications and update applicable documentation
