S.T. Cotter Turbine Services Commissions their Rotor Removal System
S.T. Cotter Turbine Services have accepted delivery and commissioned their Rotor Removal System for testing and training at their facility in Clearwater, Minnesota. The system was manufactured at our Integrated Solutions facility in Hengelo, Netherlands and shipped to S.T. Cotter in July. The entire system was setup using a fork truck and a telehandler.
The system will provide S.T. Cotter with a tool to remove generator rotors at various heights. Modular structural components enable the platform to be setup to the same height of an elevated generator. Hydraulic cylinders in the base of each tower can be utilized to adjust the height of the platform to ensure its level. During removal of a rotor, two trollies equipped with hydraulics are employed to pull, lift, lower and shift the rotor.
