Placement of 1,140 ton Nuclear Plant Module with a SyncHoist System
South Carolina Electric & Gas Company (SCE&G), principle subsidiary of SCANA Corporation, and Georgia Power were both working on nuclear generation station expansion projects in their respective states. SCE&G was tasked to place a 2.4 million pound CA01 module in the first of two new nuclear plants at the V.C. Summer nuclear generating station in Jenkinsville, South Carolina. Georgia Power was placing the same module for Unit 3 at the Plant Vogtle nuclear expansion.

Assembling Tower Crane Sections with a Hydraulic Torque Wrench
Numerous joints need to be bolted together during the erection and disassembly of a tower crane. The stability of the tower crane is dependent on the integrity of its bolted sections. The precise application of torque is critical to ensure the tower crane’s stability.

Power Station Joint Assembly with Hydraulic Torque Wrenches
Building the cooling tower structure of the Medupi power station required bolting together hundreds of steel joints. Each bolt required the precise application to be torqued, which is both challenging and requires a significant amount of time with manual tools.

Hydraulics play key role in the Installation of Venice MOSE Caissons
Over the last 100 years, the city of Venice has sunk 23 cm while sea levels have risen. In recent years the frequency and intensity of flooding has increased causing significant damage. The MOSE project is intended to protect the city from flooding. The project includes the installation of multiple underwater caissons with mobile gates that can be raised to prevent water from the sea from entering the lagoon.

Bearing Removal on NASA's Crawler-Transporter
Built in 1965, NASA’s crawler-transporters have carried rockets and spacecraft to the Kennedy Space Center launch pad for more than 40 years. The crawler-transporters will continue to be critical elements for future launch operations; however modifications are required in order to transport a rocket and launch tower combination heavier than the Saturn V moon rockets the crawlers were designed for.

Lifting a Reclaimer Stacker for Bearing Replacement
The main bearing on a Bardella iron ore reclaimer stacker needed to be replaced. Safely replacing the bearing without injury or damaging the stacker required lifting the 470 metric ton stacker approximately 400 mm (15.74 inches) while maintaining the machine’s center of gravity.

Improving the Safety and Efficiency of Lifting Carpet Spools with a Cordless Pump
When a manufacturer boosts production to cope with burgeoning demand, efficiency-minded operations staff keenly seek out technologies to help them minimise costs and manual labour while maximising safety and ongoing returns.

Transformer Installation with a Hydraulic Gantry
Roll-Lift was tasked with transporting and installing a transformer at a sub-station in San Angelo, Texas. Transported to Texas by rail, the 330 ton transformer needed to be transferred from the drop deck railcar to a heavy haul truck in order to be delivered.

Relocating a 70 ton Press with a Hydraulic Gantry Reduces Downtime
International machinery installations and removals specialist, JH Kemp Ltd, has used an Enerpac SL400 telescopic hydraulic gantry to relocate a Wilkins and Mitchell press weighing 70 Tons at Salop Design & Engineering, a metal pressings and assemblies’ manufacturer in Telford, UK. Lifting and moving the press was completed over a weekend, saving Salop Design & Engineering three weeks in lost production.

Telescopic Hydraulic Gantry Provides Greater Safety and Flexibility for the Transportation of Heavy Loads
Transformers, turbines, generators, and other heavy loads often need to be maneuvered, installed on foundations, and replaced during new build construction, maintenance, repairs, and shutdowns.

Launching the Millau Viaduct's Bridge Deck Sections
The deck of what is going to be the world's highest bridge is being launched over the Tarn valley, in the South of France, with hydraulic technology from Enerpac, a US multinational that specializes in Hydraulic System Integration for large-scale construction projects. The hydraulic system was designed and built by Enerpac's Construction Centre of Excellence in Madrid, Spain.

Enerpac Helps Erect Worlds Tallest Observation Wheel in Las Vegas
To help erect the 550-foot tall Las Vegas High Roller observation wheel including installing the massive rim sections that support 28 observation cabins, each 20 feet in diameter, each weighing 25 tons and each accommodating up to 40 people. The rim consisted of 28 different sections each weighing a massive 45 tons. The challenge was to lift, assemble and then rotate the huge rim sections so the next section could be assembled, thus allowing the wheel to take shape.
