Enerpac has gained unique expertise in delivering hydraulic solutions for the controlled movement and positioning of structures.
Replacing the Wheels on an Airplane with a Hydraulic Jack
Private airlines maintain a clientele which travel to some of the largest and smallest airports in the world. The equipment required to jack an aircraft is not always readily available at some of the smaller and more remote airports. A private airline was seeking a small "Fly Away Kit" to perform maintenance quickly and safely anywhere in the world.

Safe, Synchronous Lifting of TBM with Super Boom Lift Gantries
Hoban Construction and Daelim Corporation required a lifting and transportation solution for their Tunnel Boring Machine (TBM) assembly, which would be used to excavate tunnels.

Jack and Roll System Pulls the Fort Lyon Bridge into Position
Minimizing the amount of time state highway 266 was shut off to traffic was a primary objective during the reconstruction of the bridge over Fort Lyon Canal. Utilizing an innovative Accelerated Bridge Construction (ABC) method Kiewit, Jacobs Engineering and the Colorado Department of Transportation developed a plan to build the replacement bridge adjacent to the existing bridge.

Removing the Spans of the old Bay Bridge in Record Time
The San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge spans San Francisco Bay in California. As part of Interstate 80 and the direct road between San Francisco and Oakland, it carries about 270,000 vehicles a day on its two decks, and has one of the longest spans in the United States.

Removing the Wheel Studs on a Caterpillar 777 Dump Truck
Loose wheel studs on Caterpillar 777 dump truck were increasing the vehicle's downtime and needed to be removed and replaced. The current method of removal used a cutting torch which was unsafe and would damage the main structure of the wheel.

Power Station Joint Assembly with Hydraulic Torque Wrenches
Building the cooling tower structure of the Medupi power station required bolting together hundreds of steel joints. Each bolt required the precise application to be torqued, which is both challenging and requires a significant amount of time with manual tools.

Assembling and Transporting Electric Transformers with a Hydraulic Gantry
Tadeo Czerweny, a global leader in the electric power transformation market, based in Argentina, was seeking a solution after deciding to expand their manufacturing capacity and build higher-capacity electric transformers. The immediate need was to vertically lift a heavy platform structure used to assemble electric transformer cores and transport the large electric transformers within their plant. The maximum loads to be moved were 250 to 300 metric tons with a total height of 11 meters.

Offshore Production Facility Module Load-Out
An offshore production facility was constructed in the Gulf of Mexico and is projected to be located in water depths of in excess of 5,000 ft. In order to construct the tension-leg platform several modules weighing approximately 7,000 tons needed to be slid into position.

Turbine Lift and Load-in at Shipping Port
A Siemens gas turbine arrived at the Samsun Sea Port destine for a new 600MW natural gas combined cycle power plant in Samsun, Turkey. The 482 ton turbine needed to be lifted and loaded onto a SPMT in order to be transported to the Cengiz Enerji power plant.

Generator Installation at the Owen Springs Power Station
Installing three 10.9 megawatt diesel gas generators and alternator sets at The Owen Springs Power Station near Alice Springs, about 950 miles inland from the nearest port or major city. Each generator and alternator set weighed several hundred tons and required precise alignment during installation. Constrained by permanent overhead structures, traditional cranes were not an option.

Lifting Heavy Mining Trucks Quickly and Safely using the PowR-Lock Portable Lift System
Lifting trucks for maintenance and repair at mining sites and in the shop is a common occurrence. Safety while performing these operations is always a concern, and it’s also important to do the job efficiently and quickly.

Box Girder Launching System on the I-95 Whittier Bridge
Constructed in 1951, the John Greenleaf Whittier Bridge is currently in the process of being replaced by a new bridge compliant with current safety standards. The high traffic bridge connects Newburyport and Amesbury via I-95 over the Merrimack River. Walsh Construction is employing a rail mounted gantry crane system to simplify the placement of the steel bridge girders and precast deck to create the approach spans. Two 6 foot tall, 960 foot long temporary support steel box girders will be launched across temporary piers to create a rail system for the gantry crane to operate on during the approach span construction. The steel box girder arrangement will be moved after the placement of each approach span. It’s critical that the two 550 ton temporary steel support box girders move in unison in order to prevent binding or misalignment of the gantry crane operating on top of the rail system.
