Box Girder Launching System on the I-95 Whittier Bridge
Constructed in 1951, the John Greenleaf Whittier Bridge is currently in the process of being replaced by a new bridge compliant with current safety standards. The high traffic bridge connects Newburyport and Amesbury via I-95 over the Merrimack River. Walsh Construction is employing a rail mounted gantry crane system to simplify the placement of the steel bridge girders and precast deck to create the approach spans. Two 6 foot tall, 960 foot long temporary support steel box girders will be launched across temporary piers to create a rail system for the gantry crane to operate on during the approach span construction. The steel box girder arrangement will be moved after the placement of each approach span. It’s critical that the two 550 ton temporary steel support box girders move in unison in order to prevent binding or misalignment of the gantry crane operating on top of the rail system.

Container Crane Installed Using Synchronous Lifting System
Optimum weight distribution is fundamental to the safety and ongoing reliability of a container crane. Accurately lifting, weighing, and positioning an 800 ton container crane on the rails is critical to achieving ideal weight distribution. Existing methods of lifting port cranes typically involve whole teams of lifting personnel manually coordinating lifts with a standard pump without stroke control or weighing capabilities. Such methods are typically not accurate in lifting and do not provide any input concerning weight distribution.
Offshore Production Facility Module Load-Out
An offshore production facility was constructed in the Gulf of Mexico and is projected to be located in water depths of in excess of 5,000 ft. In order to construct the tension-leg platform several modules weighing approximately 7,000 tons needed to be slid into position.

Generator Installation at the Owen Springs Power Station
Installing three 10.9 megawatt diesel gas generators and alternator sets at The Owen Springs Power Station near Alice Springs, about 950 miles inland from the nearest port or major city. Each generator and alternator set weighed several hundred tons and required precise alignment during installation. Constrained by permanent overhead structures, traditional cranes were not an option.
Lift and Weigh of a Jack-Up Rig Cantilever and Drill Floor
Lamprell has completed the fabrication of a new jack-up drilling rig. Every jack-up rig cantilever and drill floor needs to be accurately weighed after construction. Space restrictions under the cantilever prevented the use of other weighing systems without costly rework to the load structure. Enerpac distributor Al Masaood Trading, based in Dubai, was asked to provide a safe, accurate and compact solution for weighing the jack-up rig cantilever and drill floor.

Climbing system lifts U2 concert stage
The Belgian company Stageco has constructed three gigantic, identical stages for the current U2 360° Tour. What makes this project special, is that high-pressure hydraulics are being used for the first time ever to assemble and dismantle the 230 ton construction - also known as “the claw”. Together with Enerpac, Stageco has developed a unique system, based on Enerpac’s Synchronous Lift System, to raise the modular construction to a height of 30 metres quickly and safely.

Trolley System Speeds Up Offshore Wind Transition Piece Load Out
Heavy lift equipment specialist, Enerpac, has supplied GeoSea Geotechnical & Offshore Solutions with an integrated trolley system for loading transition pieces onto a jack-up vessel for the foundation installation of the HoheSee and Albatros wind farms, offshore Germany.
Gas Turbines Installed at Takhiatash Powerplant with a Hydraulic Gantry
Istanbul-based, Hareket Heavy Lifting and Project Transportation Co. has completed the installation of power generation equipment at the Takhiatash thermal power plant in Uzbekistan using an Enerpac SBL1100 telescopic hydraulic gantry. The gantry was used to lift and place two sets of gas turbines and generators weighing 357 ton and 292 ton respectively.
Enerpac helps the Beijingâ€™s "Birdâ€™s Nest" to stand on its own feet
After two years of construction, the main venue for the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games came to a final and most important part of the construction of its steel structure: the dismantling of the temporary support towers. Computer-controlled hydraulics is the perfect match for jobs like this, and Enerpac was granted the contract to perform the stage lifting and lowering of the roof.
Enerpac Self-Erecting Tower Lifts Petrochemical Hydrocracker Vessels
Spectyazh was tasked to lift and position two hydrocracker vessels, each weighing 1,306 tons and measuring 48 meters in height. Initially, Spectyazh considered existing means to lift and replace the hydrocracker vessels, including the use of heavy cranes. However, given the space-restricted area of the petrochemical construction site, there was very little space to maneuver and lift the vessels, and cranes would not fit.
